Why Sustainability?

Every business and individual has a direct or indirect impact on climate change, sustainable living, and many other pressing global challenges. COVID-19 pushed most of us to rethink this impact and we ourselves took part in the Hack the Crisis movement that grew into a worldwide phenomenon in just a couple of weeks. We see that there’s a need for support to early-stage sustainability startups, and as strong believers in the impact startups can create we are launching the Wise Guys Sustainability acceleration program.

We are looking for B2B AgriTech, FoodTech, MedTech, EdTech, SexTech, Smart city, Mobility, Energy, and Supply Chain startups. While the idea and product, of course, are important, we are mostly looking for solid and passionate teams with global ambitions and the power to execute!

Applications are open until October 9. Program will be run from Tallinn, Estonia, with online and on-site modules.

Program Outline

As of autumn 2020 Startup Wise Guys is launching  a new format of acceleration program that is better fit to meet the needs of today’s startups and apart from intensive mentoring offers also implementation time. Program is run with 9 content modules to cover all aspects of accelerating product, company and founders.

Selection Bootcamp

Our selection committee, consisting of investors, mentors, and Wise Guys Sustainability team, will select up to 25 startups who will be invited for the 3-day Selection Bootcamp.

From Hack the Crisis to long term impact

Wise Guys Sustainability acceleration program is how Startup Wise Guys, Europe’s leading B2B accelerator, is ready to take further those who want to create a meaningful impact within the area of sustainability. Following the unfolding events of COVID-19 pandemic and being ourselves a big part of the Hack the Crisis movement by not only taking part in various hackathons around the world but also leading an impact-driven Hack the Crisis online pre-accelerator we believe that there’s much more that can be done.
This year every one of us was pressed to acknowledge our impact on the world and other human beings, but already in 2012 United Nations had introduced Sustainable Development Goals as a means for a better and more sustainable future. These two things combined with our own belief that there are more sustainable ways of how to conduct business has brought us to this point. The digitalization of the public sector and the need for future crisis responses are pushing the impact tech sector.
We see Wise Guys Sustainability acceleration program as the next stepping stone for those AgriTech, FoodTech, MedTech, EdTech, SexTech, Smart city, Mobility, Energy, and Supply Chain startups who are not only eager to make an impact but also grow and scale their businesses in order to maximize their footprint. Who would have thought that after starting the year with a zero-waste challenge our teams’ beliefs in sustainable living and impact will be challenged on such a scale but we are ready for it now more than ever as we ourselves see this as our way to pay back to the world.
